F9 E1 Error code for top load washers
Possible Solutions
Did you receive a F9 E1 or DRN long drain alert?
If F9 E1 (drain pump system problem - long drain) appears in display, the washer is taking too long to drain water. The drain may extend more than 4.5" (114 mm) into standpipe. Check plumbing for correct drain hose installation. Use drain hose form and attach securely to drainpipe or tub. Do not tape over drain opening.
Also make sure that the drain hose end is higher than 36 inches from the floor. If not, the washer could siphon (fills and drains at the same time).
Lower drain hose if the end is higher than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor. Remove any clogs from drain hose.
See Installation Instructions for proper installation of the drain hose.
