Cleaning the Interior - Top Load Washer
Possible Solutions
Are you using High Efficiency (HE) detergent in your washer?
The use of non-HE detergent can cause residue to build up in your washing machine, which, if not addressed, can result in odor or smell. Always use the detergent manufacture's recommended amount of detergent.

Have you performed the "Clean Washer" cycle, or has the "Clean Washer" light come on?
Run the Clean Washer cycle every 30 cycles to maintain washer freshness. This procedure helps keep odors from developing in your washer. The Clean Washer cycle uses higher water volumes in combination with affresh® washer cleaner or liquid chlorine bleach to clean the inside of the washer.
Unload washer as soon as the cycle is complete.
affresh® cleaners are available at many retailers. Find one here.
