Possible Solutions

Electronic Touch Pad Information

When using the touch control, touch on the name to operate, not the lights.

Is the Control locked?

If the Control Lock feature is activated the Control Lock light will be on. The controls will not respond to any touch commands.

CLICK HERE for more information on the Control panel operation if your Control panel is at the back, behind the lid.

Is the Control Set Correctly?

Make sure the selector knob is lined up with a cycle selection and the start button has been pushed.  The washer will not start if the selector is not placed on a cycle selection. Set selector to the desired cycle, like Normal, and push the start button.

Is the lid locked?

The lid must be completely closed and latched for the washer to operate.

Depending on your model, some washers may fill without the lid locking, and others will not even start until the lid locks. Check your Owner's Manual for information on your specific model.

Is the Lid Open?

Your previous washer may have filled and washed with the lid open. Newer washers may not fill or wash with the lid open. Some will fill, but will not advance if the lid is open, and will drain if the lid is left open. For best results, close the lid for the washer to fill with water, wash, drain, rinse and spin the load.

Check Washer Hoses and Water Supply:

  • Check the household water supply lines to see if the hot and cold water is turned on. Make sure to open both household water supply lines completely for proper fill.

NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer supply and turned on. The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water. The water valve inside the machine needs to have the “pressure” from both attached hoses in order for the washer to complete the cycle.

  • If a cold water wash is selected, the washer is designed to add hot water to keep the temperature optimal for cold wash performance. If you want to save energy by not connecting to the hot water line (or only have access to a cold water line if connected in a garage, etc.), purchase a “Y-connector” and an extra inlet hose to connect the hoses to both sides of the water valve.

NOTE: If you choose to connect only to cold water, wash performance may be affected.

It is recommended that washer fill hoses be replaced every 5 years.
