Is the Lint Screen Clean?

The lint screen will be located either on the top of the dryer or in the door opening of the dryer. A screen blocked by lint can increase drying time. It is important to clean your lint screen after every use.

Is the exhaust vent or outside exhaust hood clogged with lint and restricting air movement?

Ample air flow must be permitted for proper dry time. Use the images below to troubleshoot and guide your vent cleaning.

Is the vent crushed?

Rigid or Flexible metal venting is recommended for use on all dryers. Other material (aluminum foil, plastic) are NOT recommended because they can easily collapse or be crushed. See image below for examples of proper venting materials:

Difference between Auto Dry and Timed Dry

During Automatic Cycles, drying air temperature and moisture level are sensed in the load. This sensing occurs throughout the drying cycle and the dryer shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness. Use the NORMAL dryness level to provide optimal energy savings.

With Timed Dry, the dryer runs the amount of time set and sometimes results in shrinkage, wrinkling, and static due to over-drying. Use Timed Dry for the occasional damp load that needs a little more drying time or when using the drying rack.

Were you drying a large load?

Large loads take longer to dry. A load that is too large for the dryer will not tumble and limits air movement in the dryer. This slows the process of removing moist air out of the dryer, which will result in longer drying cycles.
