Detergent Remains in Dispenser at End of the Cycle - Dishwasher

Possible Solutions

Is Detergent remaining in the Dispenser?

Here are a few things to check if you notice detergent remaining in the detergent dispenser of your dishwasher at the end of the cycle. This is applicable for both powder detergent and detergent packs (pods).

Is there detergent caked in the dispenser?

Clean dispenser when caked detergent is present. Older detergent exposed to air will clump and not dissolve well, which will cause the dispenser door to stick to the detergent. Replace detergent if necessary and store the detergent in a tightly closed container in a cool dry place.

Is the Upper Rack in the Lowest Position?

Sometimes it is possible that the upper rack can block the detergent dispenser from opening completely when in the lowest position. Move the upper rack up to a higher position to unblock the detergent dispenser.

Was a "rinse only" cycle used?

If a short cycle like "rinse only" was used it could leave detergent in the dispenser as a full clean cycle was not used.
