How to Clean a Drip Bowl

How to Clean the Drip Bowls on your Maytag Range

Before cleaning, make sure all controls are off, and the cooktop is cool. Always follow label instructions on cleaning products. Food spills containing acids, such as vinegar and tomato, should be cleaned as soon as the entire appliance is cool, these spills may affect the finish. Coil elements are self-cleaning; do not immerse them in water.

Chrome drip bowls:

For chrome drip bowls, use liquid detergent or all-purpose cleaner:  Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

If that’s not available, create a cleaner with the following instructions:

  1. Solution of ½ cup (125 mL) ammonia to 1 gal. (3.75 L) water.
  2. Soak for 20 minutes, then scrub with stainless steel-wool pad and if needed use a mildly abrasive cleanser and clean with a wet scouring pad
  3. Dry thoroughly.

Porcelain drip bowls:

Porcelain Drip Bowls are dishwasher safe, so feel free to run them in your dishwasher. Or use liquid detergent or all-purpose cleaner: Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
